Our sabbatical since December paid off in many ways. We took on some small construction jobs and stained glass work to pay the bills. By doing other work, we saw Meb’s Kitchenwares in a new light, gained some perspective and cleared our heads of the last decade’s cobwebs. We revamped the workshop and our outdated routines, and cleared out old projects. It’s been an exciting four months.
I recommend this time-out to anyone who is over-stressed and always living for tomorrow. We’ve lived frugally, but attended grandchildren’s events, played at home with trees and gardens, joined the gym, took walks and developed calm habits that we hope will carry us through the busy times.
