We've had so many Happy Pig Adopters over the years that we had to make a slideshow just to highlight them all!

“I had bought myself a beautiful spalted maple-handled knife for my birthday present. Anyway, it was a short-lived situation. I brought it to a party (of course to show it off), its first outing and poof! Disappeared… Anyway, I have never gotten over its disappearance, so I was really hoping that you had another one. It’s so sad because that knife was so incredibly special. I’m not sure how I would be able to pick it out, as I live in North Carolina, so would you pick one out for me?”

"Dear Meb: I can't tell you how happy your measuring spoons make me. They rest in a small bowl in my kitchen next to my coffee pot. I use the tablespoon at least once a day to measure out my ground coffee; it's one of the first things I touch in my kitchen each day. Its satiny feel and smooth rounded edges feel so comforting in my hand. Visually, I am always taken aback and pleased with the lovely graceful shape and the beautifully grained maple. I know you told me they are very time consuming to make. I am not sure whether you continue to make them. However, I am interested in buying another set for my daughter-in-law who lives in Alaska.
Like you and Tom, they have built their own small cabin, a workshop, a cold cellar, outhouse, pump house and are working on a sauna. All the wood they used, they have felled and milled on their property. They have some solar power in the summer and heat with a woodstove.
They grow their own food and fish for Salmon. Both of them are mountain guides in Alaska and my daughter in law is studying herbal medicine and makes her own tinctures and salves from plants she harvests from the surrounding woods. They live almost exclusively off the grid. |
At any rate, I don't know if you have either the energy or motivation to make another set, but I thought I would ask. ... With deep appreciation,"
Thank you
